Paintings and screenprints
This is a painting that combines two moments that were 15 minutes apart. I climbed Humpridge over Te Waewae Bay to Okaka Lodge and waited for sunrise. We are looking south from the southern most part of the South Island of New Zealand towards the Antarctic.
December 8, 2014I painted landscapes in New Zealand. Here they are geotagged on a Flikr map.
June 24, 2012 These are sketches from a May 2011 hike on the Milford Track in New Zealand. My sketches are small so they can fit in a pack. They are all about 6”x 9” approximately. They are made to help me to develop a colour pallet . I also pack a camera to remember details that will help me finish a studio painting. This is a four day hike that starts with a boat trip across Lake Te Anau .The trail follows the Clinton Valley, climbs the MacKinnon Pass, drops into a beech forest in the Arthur Valley and is finished with a boat trip across the Milford Sound.
